Our very own Spoke Mechanic in Whitchurch, Mike Copping, has completed a sponsored cycling event which was to cycle the height of Everest!
Starting at midnight on the 15th June, Mike completed 120 repetitions of the climb up Faccombe Hill in Hampshire.
Described by the Everesting Cycle Club as “FIENDISHLY SIMPLE, YET BRUTALLY HARD. EVERESTING IS THE MOST DIFFICULT
CLIMBING CHALLENGE IN THE WORLD.”
It took Mike in excess of 20 hours, a total around 300km and saw him burn in the region of 13000 calories! Everesting Cycle Club have validated Mike’s climb!
Mike is raising money for the refurbishment of our swimming pool and hopes to raise £5,000 in sponsorship and is very close to his target.
Mike’s GoFundMe page is still open for donations so please help him to reach his target!
